Merger with FKI catapults Intelligrated to No. 2 in U.S. - St. Louis Business Journal:

The deal, completed June 19, givese the Mason-based company a broader array of productasand services. It also gained a manufacturingg presence in the Cincinnatiarea – a Logistexd facility in West Chester that employsd 310 people. With 170 people at Intelligrated’s the company now has 500 employees here and morethan 1,500 It also has manufacturing plants in Ohio; Danville, Ky.; and St. Louis. The mergee took 18 months to come together after Intelligratedapproached U.K.-based FKI, said Intelligrate CEO and co-founder Chrise Cole. Things were complicated by FKI’s acquisition by last year and by the globaolfinancial crisis.
Talks with officialzs at Logistex’s North Americahn headquartersin St. Louis began in Octobedr 2008, and the deal was announcexd in May. Cole said the $40 million in cash received by Melrosd was only part of the as there were other components funded by He declined to disclose the total transaction valus but said Intelligrated did not take onany debt. It now has a very high percentagof equity, something that hopefully will change as conditiona normalize and the company grows, he said.
